The Department of Computer Science is seeking applications from qualifying candidates to fill the
following Graduate Fellow Vacancies.

Definition of a Graduate Fellow
A Graduate Fellow is defined as a student pursuing an advanced degree at Makerere University, who has been identified within their respective Department/College to facilitate and provide a support role to the teaching and learning of a given academic programme as appropriate.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of teaching materials, direct interaction with students in laboratory, conduct of practical and tutorial sessions
Assist in grading papers
Assist in supervising undergraduate students projects
Assist in providing academic guidance and counseling to undergraduate
Actively participate in research at the Department
Execute any other additional responsibilities as may be assigned by the Head of Department
Workload Maximum (hours per week) shall be 4 contact hours for a Master Fellow and 6 hours of a PhD Fellow
Qualifications and Eligibility
A Bachelor’s degree with a First Class or Second Class Upper Division. A PhD Fellow must also have a good Masters degree
A Masters Fellow must be enrolled on an MSc Computer Science programme and a PhD Fellow must be enrolled on a PhD Computer Science programme at Makerere University
A Masters Fellow shall not be more than 35 years old and a PhD Fellow shall not be more than 45 years old at the time of recruitment on the graduate programme
Have an existing scholarship offer or research position to cater for stipend and tuition fees
Emoluments and Benefits
Applicants should have an existing scholarship or research position that caters for the tuition fees and stipend. This is a non-paid position.
